RUSS is voluntary and community-led. You can be involved as little or as often as your life permits. Start with what you can realistically offer and we can take it from there.
How can I help?
You do not need a formal role or a special qualification. These are starting points, not boxes you have to fit into.

Especially if you live on Arran: walk with somebody, show them a favourite place, cook or bake, offer an occasional lift, help organise something, include someone on a dog walk or simply spend some time together.

A local business might offer food, an activity, a haircut, gym or outdoor session, work experience or another service. A spare room or unused property may sometimes help too.
I can offer something03
RUSS is seeking funding and donations to help welcome visiting guests and make their time on Arran memorable and meaningful. Financial support can also help with the practical costs of creating restorative breaks and shared experiences.
Support RUSS financially04
Grassroots groups, frontline organisations, people with lived experience and others who share the aims of RUSS can talk to us about referrals, partnership, campaigning or ideas.
Start a conversationIf you live on Arran
Lindsay's invitation is deliberately broad. You may feel "tribeless", want to strengthen the community around you, or simply like the idea of sharing the island with somebody who needs a restorative break.
You do not need to promise every week. A useful contribution can be occasional, ordinary and fitted around your own life.
